Setting up Right Click on Your Mouse

You might be thinking to yourself, “Why doesn’t my Mac have a right click button?”…well, it does! It’s just not setup on the default installation of Mac OS X.

Apple's Mighty MouseLet’s set it up, shall we? First, though Mac OS X supports two plus button mice, you must make sure you have one. All new Mac’s ship with a Mighty Mouse so if you’ve just recently bought a new mac, you’ll definitely have one. The Mighty Mouse looks like it doesn’t have a right click button, but don’t be fooled by its looks, it does indeed have multiple buttons. The picture to the right is a Mighty Mouse.

  1. In the Menubar on the top left corner of the screen, click the Apple icon and select “System Preferences”.Select System Preferences from the Apple taskbar menu.
  2. Click the “Keyboard & Mouse” icon.Select Keyboard and Mouse from the window.
  3. Click the “Mouse” tab near the top of the window.Select the Mouse tab.
  4. Select “Secondary Button” from the drop down list to the right of the Might Mouse image.Select Secondar Button from the drop down list.
