Change Leopards Dock Appearence from 3D to 2D

Don’t like Leopard’s new 3D dock look? Sure, you can just move the dock to the left or right side of the screen, but if you like it on the bottom then your sol, right? Wrong, this quick tutorial will show you the key to enlightenment….well, for your dock at least!
Your dock currently looks something like this ![]()
You would like it to look something like this ![]()
- Launch Terminal and enter the following
defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES
- Relaunch the Dock by entering in
killall Dock
Behold it’s 2D beauty! Should you decide to switch back, enter the above commands but replace YES with NO.
